I often get asked why I photograph babies. It’s a valid question considering the job is about 30% snuggles, 40% pee, 25% poop, and 5% creating beautiful lasting art. Naturally, I respond with why wouldn’t I photograph babies? Those quick baby snuggles are 100% worth the poop (not to mention I get my baby fix which, to be honest, is a huge relief to my husband…) When you hire me to photograph your newborn, you aren’t just hiring me to photograph your sweet newborn baby. You are enlisting me to help you remember a fleeting moment and feelings that you just can’t put into words. That feeling that you experienced looking at this fresh new face and you were sure your heart would just burst. That moment when you first locked eyes, and the Earth’s gravitational pull made sense. That moment that “unconditional love” took on a real, tangible meaning. It’s the moment you fully transition from being in love to being a family. The moment you see your piece of forever. And that, my friend, is really why I photograph your babies. The snuggles are just a fringe benefit. If you are in the greater Seattle Tacoma area, I would love to chat with you about being your Seattle newborn photographer. In case you came to this page actually wondering about my qualifications, and not to read my incessant rambling… I’ve been shooting babies since 2013, and fell in love with it at first snuggle. I’m CPR certified, a proud alumni member of The Motherhood Society, certified in newborn safety by the American Association of Newborn Photography Safety, and have taught dozens of photographers around the country the art and safety of newborn photography. My style is timeless and clean: I love neutrals, earth tones, and creating memories that will withstand the test of time.
