Biographical Info
My love for photography began following the birth of my gorgeous son in August 2008. At the time I had been working as a physiotherapist for 8 years, but felt a career in photography suited my lifestyle and passions and filled that creative gap that was missing in my medical career. I spent and still spend many, many hours researching photography and trying to develop my skills. I used to feel like a ‘fake’ photographer for a long time as I had been so used to formal training, clinicals, degrees, exams etc and would compare my work (and still do) to these amazing photographers all over the world and just know that I have a very, very long way to go and yes I still do! I am so inspired by so many photographers out there and am so grateful there are so many of them willing to help their colleagues develop there skills. There just seems to be no end to how many beautifully captured pictures one can take. I love what I do, it fills every aspect of my life. My growing family is my inspiration as I seek to capture every one of ‘life’s little moments’. As a mom, I am keenly aware of the all-too-fleeting nature of childhood and the importance of having lasting images that are able to take us back to that time of happiness and wonder each time we look at them. Capturing the very essence of a newborn or a child’s genuine expressions and natural beauty is not only extraordinarily difficult, but it requires a bit of patience and creativity. It is my soul objective to create timeless portraits that show your child’s individuality in an honest and comforting way. I want to write a storybook on a day in the life of your child, captured through pictures that warm your soul in difficult times and show the wonderful moments we all take for granted and have difficulty remembering. I specialise in creative, non-traditional and contemporary portraiture of maternity, newborns, babies and children. I am passionate about creating images that will tug at your heart and bring a smile to your face each and every time you see them.
